I was found by means of a heart scan, followed

I was found by means of a heart scan, followed by a chemical stress test, to have a "heightened level of calcification in the cardiac arteries; noted especially was the lower anterior descending artery. My cardiologist gave me my results, and I was told that the offending substance was "diffused" throughout the arterial network. I would like to know if these calciums and the plaque that we commonly fight the buildup of are one and the same substance. I had forgotten to ask her this specific question in my ph. conversation with her office, so here I am. Can you give me some insights on this? Incidentally, the reason for the initial heart scan was that the hospital network where my wife works was offering the scans at a reduced price in honor of February as heart month. I've never had a cardiac symptom that I know of, but my family history is rampant with cardiovascular disease. Thanks, and hope to hear from you...

Subsequently, I was admitted for a CT scan with a view to having a stent fitted. They didn t fit a stent as they said no blockage was found. I m worried in case the bulge could be an aneurysm
