When I asked my bf if drinking beer and eating lots of cholcolate and sweets was a replacement for his meth use of nine years. He stated, no that he had replaced his meth use of nine years, with me. Meaning that our relationship of one year has replaced the drug use. Last time he admitted to using is for Thanksgiving, but claims he only used because we had broken up and he was heartbroken. Is this statement a red flag? It sounds as though he is saying that as long as we are together he will remain clean otherwise will end up using.
