It's the same thing - Electrocardiogram. EKG is the old abbreviation. An ECG (or EKG) uses 12 electrodes placed on the chest, arms, and legs for a comprehensive view of the heart's rhythm to check for abnormalities is rhythm or rate.

Had an ekg last week (changing health ins providers and they requested) ekg showed borderline ecg and says abnormal changes possibly due to myocardial ischemia? my cholesterol is a little high 246 but i am not overweight (5 1) 130 fully clothed and my bp is great 102/64. Hi I have had an ecg and the results came back fine with no problems, but at night when im falling asleep my heart beats really fast and my body jolts as if my body don't want me to fall asleep, I can take me between 15 minutes and an hour to fall asleep. why is this happening?

hey, I have had irregular heart beats for prob. the last 5 to 10 years. My heart will beat in an irregular rhythm and then sometimes seem to be perfectly fine. At times it will be beating regularly then all of a sudden for no apparent reason start beating very fast and usually will last between 20 seconds and a minute or two usually leaving me with like a hot flash feeling in my face when it subsides . any ideas what this could be I've had halter monitors and 48 hr monitors ekg's . no specific diagnosis

I have pvc s and pac s and have have several ekg s- all normal, an echo that was perfect and am currently on an event monitor. My questions is yesterday I felt a skipped beat followed by 4 fast beats, then another skip and 4 fast beats and another skip, then it went back to normal. Should I be concerned with this? I ve only ever felt one skipped beat at a time. I didnt have my monitor on so I didn t catch it. I m really concerned. Please help
