I used to smoke, but only for about four years, on and off, never consistently. When I stopped I noticed when I coughed my coughs sounded wheezy and I felt like I have a bit of congestion in the back of my throat. I assumed it was phlegm from smoking but the thing is this has never gone away. It's never worsened, but it's never gone away. Should I be worried? I only hear wheezing when I exhale forcefully or when I laugh hard. I've been to the doctors since and no one has said I had any issues when they listened to my lungs, but I just wanted to know why I still have wheezing?
