I Take 1 Mg Tablet Of Alprazalom XR Twice A

I take 1 mg tablet of Alprazalom XR twice a day to counteract the effects of the Ritalin that I take for narcolepsy. I've called my doctor twice in the past 48 hours about refilling the prescription since its 6 monthly refills have expired. Last night was when I took the last tablet. I'm now (18 hours later) experiencing jitteriness and restlessness which I am worried about. I take this medication carefully but have had 2 episodes in the past 20 years of abusing this med. I know what withdrawal feels like and was warned never to suddenly go off of this medication (after doing so about 10 years ago when I self-withdrew--2 weeks of hell). I'm sure the doctor will get to the refill request soon but should I be concerned about these effects in the meantime? I'm a 69 y.o. male.
