I am 54 and going through menopause....I have had a fibroid for years, but on my yearly exam recently, it had enlarged to the point that my doctor sent me for a transvaginal US...my question is, since I have no significant symptoms, even if the ultrasound shows pressure on my bladder and one ovary hiding behind the fibroid, what advantage would there truly be to having a hysterectomy?

I am a 39 year old female. I recently had a LAVH back on November 18, 2016 and my doctor also removed 2 fibroid about the size of grapefruits which we had no idea of at the time. Since the surgery I have been having very tender, sore breast at certain times of the month for 3 to 5 days about once a month. I forgot to mention that I did keep my ovaries, my doctor strongly recommended I keep my ovaries due to my age. The fibroids, having a hysterectomy at my age has happened to the majority of the women in my family on my mother and father side. I would like to know if this breast tenderness and soreness a normal thing?

I had a hysterectomy in 2009 due to fibroids which caused severe pain and bleeding. Doc left my ovaries. I have been pain free since then until recently. I am now experiencing cramping in my left pelvic area...what could be causing this? Feels like period cramps and they seem to be gettting worse. Can t get to my doc for a few months as he is booked. I am 53. email address
