Dear Neha,During pregnancy and even before conceiving it is advisable that you consult an endocrinologist. You will need regular monitoring of your thyroid status during pregnancy may need frequent dose adjustments so he will be helpful. You need to do regular exercise in order to reduce weight. Some hormonal abnormalities other then thyroid can also lead to increase in weight.Bye and all the best.

I am 31 years old and TTC for about 7 months, after 4 months of trying I was sent for a blood test were my thyroid came back 5.22 I was told to see a reproductive endocrinologist not to waste time, but can not get the coverage by insurance so I opted for a regular endocrinologist. I was told by my aunt that all the women on my mothers fathers side have thyroid issues that they take medication for. I was put on synthroid 25mcg by my regular pcp and referred to the endocrinologist he sent me for new blood work and after looking at my old bloodwork advised me that I have hashimotos. I never even heard of it before and maybe have 3 symptoms I can recall. My recent bloodwork aft 4 weeks of 25mcg showed thyroid at 7.2 he has upped the anti to 75mcg of the generic ( leve....something ). He seems confident if I get my thyroid under control I will get pregnant on my own. Have you ever dealt with a situation like this or are familiar with? I also just started juicing with a nutribullet but am nervouse there may be things I should stay away from, my endo told me do whatever I want. I m just looking for some answers and am not sure if I should persue a reproductive endocrinologist?

I am 26 years old. Female. & have a couple concerns. Fr a little while now I have been extremely tired. Several months. With that I have EXTREME constipation like 10-20 days with no BM. Also I have gained about thirty pounds in a matter of two months and cannot seem to get it off. I have dark circles under my eyes as well. I have not had a cycle in over two months. I am not pregnant. I had blood work down to look at my thyroid and the TSH was 1.82. My primary said that was normal. My WBC was 4.3 and the RDW was 11.4%. Also my ast 33 and alt 32. I am really tired of being so tired. I generally run a high pulse in the 100s. Can sleep all day. Lately I have developed headaches in the evenings. Three years ago I had a child via cesarian because my blood pressure was too high (don t know I that s relevant)! I just want some help and my doctor doesn t seem to care. Also I supposively have adult ADD. Which I guess contributes to my forgetfulness which is worse as well. Thank you!(also heart disease, cancer, hypertension, thyroid disorders. Are in family hx)

I am living in Bangalore temporarily and have Fibromyalgia. I have been reading that the underlying cause can be due to an under active thyroid. I was doing better but recently began to feel much worse. I don t know what to do or who to see here in the city.

I had a baby 18 months ago and previous to that suffered from Hyperthyroid due to a virus. I was suffering from significant tachycardia and excessive sweating at that time. RAI Uptake was done etc, Virus resolved rendering my thyroid now Hypoactive for the last 4 years. I am currently taking Synthroid 150mcg. I have been a runner my entire life however first trimester complications caused that to cease. I am not just getting back into it and training for a half marathon. I have noted that my heart rate even after 5 minutes of running is around 186 bpm. I went to my GP to have my TSH and T4 checked to be sure I wasn t over medicated. Everything was normal. His response to this high BPM was to add a Beta-blocker. I have leary of taking it because I have read it will greatly affect my performance while running. I also get a quivering type feeling here and there through out the day in my heart. I get extremely flush almost purple in my face when running. I m wondering if there could something significantly more wrong than the thyroid affect as my GP has mentioned. I asked for a stress test and he said I didn t need one. I am 34 years old, slightly overweight still from post-partum. no other medical conditions, no history of any previous medical conditions other than Gestational Induced Hypertension and ecclampsia which clearly has resolved and Gestational Diabetes which also resolved.
