I have symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes like rapid weight loss, more thirsty than usual, recurrent thrush. I am 17.Suggest me a remedy

I previously posted a question asking whether my head rushes were Vertigo . However upon searching around the net, I have realised that, taking other variables into account, it may add up, instead, to Type 1 Diabetes . I am seventeen and my symptoms include: rapid weight loss (21 pounds over a few weeks- 7 pounds of which was lost literally in the last couple of days), more thirsty than usual (particularly in the mornings at which I have woken up to a bone dry mouth over the last few weeks), recurrent thrush (despite treatment, which works for a few days only each time), excessive tiredness (despite how many hours I sleep), urinating slightly more often, blurred vision (although more as though one of my eyes is slightly out of sync with the other rather than true blurriness), often extreme dizziness upon standing, sometimes nausea. I am not a hypochondriac and I do not want to self-diagnose myself from a Google search, therefore if anybody with personal experience of type 1 diabetes- albeit even as a friend or doctor- could advise me as to whether or not these symptoms genuinely suggest it then I would be very much grateful. I will be going to the doctor ASAP Monday, but I’d like some form of indication for myself before then. Thank you.

Your features are not suggestive of Diabetes as such. I would advise you to get your blood sugars tested to reconfirm the same. Also it is better to get other investigations especially hemoglobin content.

My girlfriend is having problem with what we belive is her duodenum but has been unsuccessfull in getting any medical direction on how to best address or help her issue. She has progressively become very underweight over the past 10 years. Despite being very hungry she has trouble eating and frequently finds herself with a full sick feeling. She has has had an increasing problem over the years with reflux and vomitting --- she sometimes gets lucky and can have a stretch of a day or two without getting sick (but even then she is not able to eat anyore than usual). Her vomitting is frequently fully digested food/liquid. She has had repeated tests - endoscopy, colonoscopy, emptying test etc and the only explanation that has been potentially provided is that radiation treatments she had 40 years ago as a teen-ager may have damaged her duodenum. A while back she had been led to believe that her gall bladder was pressing on duodenum so she took the steps to have it removed, but unfortunately that didn t seem to correct the issue. So at this point she is concerned as her weight keeps dropping and has not been given much in terms of thoughts of what she can do to help her situation. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks

I ve been having an issue, usually but not always when I eat, where I get pains in my chest (sort of like heartburn) and I produce excessive and trick saliva. Its been happening for over a year now on a somewhat regular basis. Sometimes it is worse than other, I have even thrown up a few times while having it. I talked to my family doctor about this awhile ago and he thought that I might have acid reflux but he wasn t sure since my symptoms were rather unusual. I went on acid reflux meds for awhile and they didn t really seem to help all that much. Any idea what is wrong with me? If it matters, I am a type 1 diabetic since 2005.

For the past 6 years i experiance bouts of extreme fatigue, swollen chin and auxillary nodes, diarrhea, muscle pain and weakness, small headaches, gerd, and my skin is always tender to the touch to the point were hugs are painful and also something as small as snapping my fingers hurts. It also seem sthat my tolerance for pain has greatly diminished. Also, i have no to low sex drive and my mentral cycles have always been irregular, ocurring from 2-3 months, where now i have gone 6 months without one, occuring. I have had a million blood tests at the doctors and he can never seem to find anything physically wrong with me other than insulin resistance. I was reading about cfs/ fibro and wondering if this sounds like what it could be. Medical history: Asthma 20 yrs.(i have been intubated twice due to asthma attacks) Insulin Resistance. I had a diagnosis of ebv in 2004. I currently take albuterol inhaler and prednisone on and off as needed for about a weeks time for the past 15 yrs.

I have friend who has hep C and diabetes 2. He was in the hospital for dehydration and heat exhaustion. They hydrated him and he responded quite well. All his vitals were good. They put him on an IV drip with ativan and hydrocone, something for gastric acid and insulin. He has never had insulin before. But he started to shiver and tremble. He was on this drip for two days. He cannot function very well now. It is hard for him to control his elimination functions and he tremble quite a bit. I feel that the hydrocodone affect him very bad it was 5/500 because of the tylenol in it. . Before he dehydrated, he had a panel done and he was stable in all areas. His liver enzymes were elevated a little; but he was basically stable. What can he take to help recover?

Hi, I am taking Duromine 40mg, and my urine is quite dark and odorous all day. I am drinking about 2 litres of water per day. I am not diabetic, but I took my BSL yesterday about 5hrs after lunch and it was 6.9. Is this a side effect, or should I investigate further - maybe insulin resistance? (had BSL done about a year ago and was perfect according to GP) thanks
