I have sharp pain in my left groin area, where my leg meets my torso. The pain radiates down my left thigh and sometimes all the way to my foot. It is very hard to lift up my left leg when I walk. Frequently the pain is so sharp that my left leg "gives way" beneath me. What could be causing this?

I a having a sharp pain in my right leg. (right where the leg meets the groin.) hurts enough that it woke me up. Hurts really bad when I bend over. Is worse when I lie down. Hurts worse when I pass gas. just took ibuprofen, hoping to mask the pain enough that I can go back to sleep. SHOULD I BE concerned? WHat might it be?
