What Can I Do About Drowsiness, Lethargy And Tingling Sensation In The Right Side Of My Neck After Discontinuing Weed Consumption?

I have recently have stoped smoking weed for about a week now. And I have read that you can have withdraw symptoms such as lack of energy and like you have the flu. I don t really have a problem with sleeping but seem to want to sleep all the time. The thing that wireds me out is sometimes my limbs have a tingly feeling and the right side of my neck and face feel tense. Is this normal or should I see a doc?

Hi,

Cannabis causes sleepiness and is often helpful for sleeping. It does not cause lethargy on withdrawal though, that is uncommon. However, taking any drug changes one's brain chemistry. Stopping it, unmasks the underlying brain chemistry. Also, if the brain chemistry started out abnormal or if it because it has been abnormal on its own by coincidence, then the cannabis can OFTEN mask the underlying brain chemistry.

If someone had the average depression with lethargy, hyperventilation, panic attacks, and consequent numbness, many would take cannabis for this. Some would find cannabis helpful. If the cannabis stops, the underlying depression with lethargy and other symptoms comes back. This is highly likely to be better treated with an anti-depressant. Thus, seeing a doctor can be helpful for diagnosis and treatment. Yet, I cannot say in your particular case.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
