what it sounds like is that you are having anxiety or panic. those symptoms are totally normal for a anxiety/panic disorder. you may be short of breath or have a racing heart but those are common symptoms of anxiety. i have those symptoms all the time. it is very scary at times but it will pass. just go to a quiet place and try to relax. these things can come out of no where or can be brought on by certain triggers "public places or when you need to be alone"... many people have this disorder and dont even know it. go onto yahoo and type in "anxiety symptoms" and you can check it out and try and diagnose yourself. well, actually.. you should ask your doctor to do that but just ask her if this is something you might have. im almost positive it is what you have going on though. best of luck!!!

I have rapid heart rate, shortness of breath, dizziness, headache, and hair loss... About 2 years ago I started feeling weird, so I grabbed my stethoscope (im a cna) and started listening and my heart was doing a triple beat every now and then, I went to the er after about 3 weeks of this and they did a halter monitor... results of that were rapid heart rate and 6-7 pvc s an hour... I went for an EKG.. a couple extra PVC s but everything looked find... then went for an echocardiogram and everything looked fine.. but yet I continue to have random episodes where I can be sitting still not doing anything and my heart will start racing to 150+ bpm.. I am a 22 yr old female.. I had an episode a couple months ago where I was just walking through my friends office and all of a sudden I felt weird, and my vision started going black, and then I felt one big beat and then my heart started racing so fast I couldnt count it, it felt like there was a vibrator under my chest bone, my friend could even feel it. they did blood work to check my thyroid and everything looked normal. when I got to the ER after the vibrating episode my heart rate had gone back to 126 and they put me in a wheel chair and immediately took me back... the DR said theres no way it could be anything serious and sent me home that has happened once more since then... but normally the rapid heart rate is every so often.... for the past 3 weeks its been every day and when it happens its never slower than 130bpm... I have noticed my hair is now falling out by the handful I am dizzy alot, and its noticable when I feel this way, my mom even says I look like hell. but it will happen when I am just sitting there not doing anything, no stress or anxiety I was in the car yesterday and it was 136, I walked into walmart and it was 148 by the time I got in the door, I sat down for about 20 mins then walked over and took my blood pressure and it was 127/78 and 110 bpm, which is a higher than normal systolic for me...I eat a balanced diet and I am on no medications, I do however had the merina IUD it used to just be annoying but its happening everyday... and its the big beats which I was told are the PVC s and the rapid rate, and then the shortness of breath and dizziness. I got it about 3.5 years ago... it fell out almost 2 years ago, and then I got pregnant and miscarried and had it put back in so its been in this time for about a year and a half I decided to start going to the gym and after 4 mins of warm up on the bike my heart rate was 206... so I decided I didn t need to do the gym till I figured out what this was I have also noticed lately, and it might just be a coincidence, but it seems to happen when I eat, not everytime I eat, but every couple meals or so and its several times a day that it happens Just wondering if you could give me some insight into possibilities, or what to suggest to a DR because everytime I end up in the ER for this I am told its nothing. and they wont even test for anything

I am a 24 and a half year old white female with 3 children ages 4 and under. My heart rate is normally on the higher side when I am pregnant and that s pretty much the only time I ever check it. But I ve been checking it a lot the past few days and every time it s been between 101-109bpm. Even after just waking up after sleeping. Sometimes I do feel like my heart is racing. Is this something I should get checked out by a doctor?

Female, 24 yrs old. Overweight by about 75lbs, have been for about 2 years. Once a week for the past 6 weeks, when relaxing-I will get fast heart rate over 100, light headed, short of breath. Last week was so dizzy once rate increased, I could not walk straight. It usually last about 10 minutes, but last week I felt bad for longer. I have been tested for several infections, and nothing. My white blood cell count has been elevated about a 13, the past 3 weeks. I have been on a small ECG heart monitor with electrodes for about 2 1/2 weeks. The cardiologist does not know the issue at this time for my heart rate is fine when I am being seen by the doctor. Never went to ER because I am 30 minutes away and the feeling would be gone before i got there. Also the omly recent change is more stress with my job. I have always had neck trouble from young child to teenager-due to trauma, as far as i know not any nerve damage. What could cause my heart rate to speed up during relaxation times?

Hey, I was diagnosed with an eating disorder and the effects were secondary amenorrhea and bradycardia. My resting rate rate then was 45 and they said it could be reversed but I was wondering if it was possible to reverse it in a week? I ve been following their orders of eating more for about 5 days now and my resting heart rate is between 70-80 every time I check it.

My resting heart rate is unusually fast and even if i just walk up the stairs my heart is racing like ive just ran a mile. When i exercise i can feel my heartbeat in my chin and other strange places aswell as having red, blotchy skin all over my body, mostly my face and arms. Also, after exercise, if i open my mouth i can hear my heartbeat, its like a ticking noise. My mouth goes very very dry too. Finally ive noticed that if i lie down and place something across my chest for example a book or ipad, i can see my ipad wobble alot from my heartbeat, is any of this normal??

My rest heart rate is typically around 100 and my blood pressure is typically very good. I am now taking Bisoprol 5mg for atrial tachycardia. My last read had my rest heart rate at 94 but my blood pressure has dropped to 101/57. Should I be concerned?

I am a 23 year old female, studying medicine. For past 8 months, i have been having some episodes of heart 'dysfunctions' that now have turned constant. I need help in knowing what is the condition.
It started last may when one day i started feeling so weak that i just could not get up and was having a splitting headache, when i measured my BP was 90/55mmHg ( before it was always 120/80mmHg). I was having palpitations, bradycardia at times, tachycardia at times, extreme weakness, sweating ( especially on scalp) after sleeping after headache. I was also having light sleep.
Slowly, these episodes became constant. Now I am feeling weak all times, light headed if sitting or standing for long, headache (thumping with constant heaviness), inability to sleep, tightness in chest, chest pain sometimes, tachycardia at any normal activity (walking, doing some tidy up), BP is still low. I also get dry cough on breathing sometimes.
So i got a holter done for 24 hours, got following:
- sinus tachycardia( 110- 120) almost all day with some normal rate in between, my heart rate dropped to 50 in middle of night ( reason causing me to wake up from sleep and not to sleep again) and it remained like that for 3 hours
- average pulse -81
- my heart rate jumped to 179 per min when i climbed stairs ( 9 floors, easily climbed by others), breathing became laboured, headache with blacking out sensations ( i did not faint though)
- I have some abnormalities in lead I, II and III ( looks like left axis deviation as lead I is showing highest peaks and is moving away from III ) even the avL and avF looks weird, QTc>450ms is 47%, no ST deviation, no T wave abnormalities
I also have tachypnea (26-28 per min) and accentuation of Pulmonary part of second heart sound. I also have slight edema on my feet ( bluish tinge)
I also did a blood work up, I do not have thyroid problems or anemia
I need some advice on what i might be having, so as to proceed further on treatment.
