I Have Itchy Red Rash On The Left Side Of Body. What Could Be The Reason?

HI have a red rash which started as what I thought was a bite under my left breast, a small part of the rash has also come back on the left side of my back - started 3-4 days ago and the spots now have little scabs - this is accompanied with a tingly/sensitive sensation mostly around my upper and middle left side of my back which has also moved to a section of my left arm and left palm - almost feels like my ribs are bruised. Any ideas? Went to GP yesterday and she said its possibly an allergic reaction to a bite but wasnt too sure...

Hi, Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.
Do you have any past History of Allergies or asthma in you or your Family?? You are having Atopic Dermatitis which causes scaly and itchy rashes, it occurs due to a hypersensitivity reaction in the skin. It can get worsened by allergies, exposure to animal fur, pollen, flu, dry skin, contact with rough materials, cold water or stress. Get yourself examined by a Dermatologist so that he may examine you and if possible take a skin lesion swab for biopsy to confirm it or do a allergy testing. TO relieve your itching, you can use cold compresses. Try to identify and avoid triggers that worsen the itching or increase the size of rash, Avoid scratching, moisturize your skin and use a humidifier at home and if possible remove the pets with fur from your home and wear cotton clothing. Exercise regularly and eat healthy nutritious balanced diet which should include fresh fruits and green leafy veggies.

Wish you Good Health, Take Care.
