I have high BP, Is there something I can do myself to help ?

I am in school for medical assisting, and today we were learning how to take blood pressures. When the girl taking mine said how high it was, the teacher came and listened and she said it was 208/122. They advised me to see my doc right away, but i dont have insurance. Is there something i can do myself to help ? I am 23 yrs old, I am 5 4 and 148lbs. I eat kinda healthy, not horrible, but not the best...any ideas ?

hello,
Welcome To Health Care Magic
I would advise you to go to a doctor and get it throughly checked. If your blood pressure has ben accurately measured than it is high and you should go to your doctor.I wonder how so high blood pressure hs not created any issue to you or you have not mentioned it.
Have it examined by a physician.
Hope now you are isured and you will visit your doctor soon.
Take care.

Thanks for the query
The bp reading if true then it is acc hypertension and requires medical line of management along with conventional ones. If you don't get treated soon then I am afraid u will end up spending more for the complications.
Have a healthy living

Prior to a work related car accident, I was in perfect health. I, was wearing my police uniform, when struck by an imparied driver in 2009. Since that day, while specialists were trying to figure out why I was in pain and having flu like symptoms monthly for a week at a time, and extreme pain and unusual fatigue my orth surgeon sent me for a bon scan where the nurse dropped the needle and put a belt around my elbows without steralizing. The next morning I woke up with 4 golf ball size lymph nodes under each arm. I had surgery and was diagnosed with a staph infection, I had home care for over two months while nurses changed the wound dressings under both underarms until they healed. As i tried to go for rehab to get strong again, I continue to crash and suffer from extreme exhaustion and was eventually told I had Fibromyalgia. I went to the USA for a 1 year treatment plan at the fibro and fatigue centre in Marietta Georgia. During my IV Injectoin treatments it was detected that I was not suffering from high blood pressure at rest 169 over 116 with a pulse of 90 to 98 at rest. Since then my dr prescribed blood pressure medicine and I take it but blood pressure is still 157 over 110 and my pulse is 104 at rest. What does this mean?? The last time I went to a heart specialst they advised that my heart was somewhat enlarged and mentioned left ventrical hypertrophy a condition athletes get as it happens over time with the heart having to pump harder. Any suggestions. I have been advised that Fibromyalgia causes our blood to thicken and less oxygen and a number of different theories. I really want to find the best doctor in the world to help me. Thank You, Katherne 46 yrs always an athlete until this accident and the driver and passenger were impaired by drugs on a monday morning in June at 11am and this is still before the courts and I just want it to be over so that I can try fetal stem cell or something to save myself.

Im 23, and have high blood pressure (160/110 ish). I dont smoke (anymore, quit 1 year ago), dont drink more than 8 pints a week, dont do drugs, low cholestrol, not overweight (im 6 3 and about 90kg) and lead an fairly active life. I have seen 2 Consultant Cardiologists now, and after practically every test possible they have both concluded they dont know why my BP is up. While i don t doubt their proffessional opinion, Im sure there is something causing it. Would an allergy (eg food etc) or something unknown to me cause it? A friend mentioned Diabetes , would this be worth following up? Can anyone think of anything, or point me in a direction of help? Oh by the way, I m not stressed, and dont eat large quantities of salt, I eat very balanced diet , including lots of green stuff! Sorry, all my tests came back ok/clear. Kidneys fine.

In a recent medical exam, my BP was 142/92 and my pulse rate was 63. My SpO2 was measured twice (three minutes apart) and went from 96% to 93%. I had no medical history to report to the doctor. I was basically starting fresh with my healthcare. She said my vitals were normal and stable. She said my BP was likely due to my back pain (that led to the visit in the first place). But if my pressure was high, why was my rate low?? And, what is the significance of the drop in SpO2? Thanks.

I have a rash in my groin and my body is always itchy. For about 2 years I had rashes on both my feet. It seems to have cleared now but I still have to apply dipresone everyday. I take medication for high blood pressure - Micardi Plus, Zanidip and Spiractin. Are any of these causing my rash problems?
