I Have Had Pain In My Tail Bone Area For Years When I Sit

Well I have had pain in my tail bone area for years when I sit, lay down on hard sufraces, etc and I never thought anything of it because it s been there since I can remember. Then 5 years ago I got thrown against a wall on my tail bone and it hurt so bad I couldn t sit for 2 weeks. Then last weekend I went to ride roller coasters at Magic Mountain and later that night I went to the restrrom and I was bleeding . Not vaginally or anally. It was on my tail bone area. Well last night I figured I should look at it through the mirror and it literally looked like a hole right where the tail bone is.

Hello,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic. The pain in tail bone can be due to coccydynia but the blood from a hole in the tail bone is due to a pilonidal cyst. It is a cyst right over the coccyx area. In this the skin becomes reddened or even sometimes discharges pus and blood. When it is infected, it causes pain. Antibiotics or surgical drainage may be required.

Please consult a surgeon and get it seen.

Hope it helps you. Regards.
