Hi, I ve had heart palpitations for over ten years, and I ve had numerous tests done and they ve all come back normal. I ve been told that this is nothing to worry about and that I should just ignore it, however over the last three weeks I ve noticed an increase in the number of palpitations I ve been having and it has become a concern of mine. Should I go back to the cardiologist or just continue to ignore them. I do not get dizzy, short of breath, or have chest pain. They are just scary. Thanks.
I am not certain if this is considered heart palpitation but I feel like heart beat is on my throat and makes me cough. When a heart beat is on my throat I do not feel the pulse. I do not smoke, do not drink alcohol and do not drink caffeinated drinks. I was drinking non-caffeinated coffee but I quit that. I am 55+ year old female and I am not over-weight. I have an appt. with my doctor in about 3 weeks and I am wondering if I shoul see him earlier. Thank you very much, in advance, for your response.
I am having constant thudding heartbeats with irregular or skipped beats. This has been going on for the last five hours . I can't sleep. It has been bad for the last two days but not constant as it is now . I'm worried. I can't fall asleep . I seem to lurch awake even as I drift off with another powerful rushing feeling of thudding in my chest and more skipped beats. I have been complaining to my doctor for 12 years of irregular beats. I have had several ECG and scans and they always tell me there's nothing wrong with the functioning of my heart but I can't ignore these symptoms that don't go away. I believe my stressing over them makes them worse but it's a vicious circle. I am meant to be on Citalopram but took one tablet and woke up in the middle of the night clenching my jaw with skipping beats . Looking up the side effects/contra indications it says should not take if suffer any heart rhythms problems. Why is my doctor giving me these ? So I daren't take them for fear of making things worse but I do need an anxiolytic as prescribed.
Hello, my 13-year-old son has been having a very rapid heartbeat in the past 3 days: 130-147. It is possible that he has been having this problem for a long time and we have not notice. He exercise a lot and even lifts (as much as his own body weigh). Also he is a vegetarian, so we suspect that he may be anemic. We discovered this problem 3 days ago during a preventive check-up. His heartbeat was 120 and the doctor said that his EKG was ok, so that it was probably just caused by his emotional distress. Yet we have measured his heartbeat in the past 3 days at home about 8 times and it is never lower than 130 and never higher than 147. He feels okay subjectively. He runs up and down the stairs as an exercise every day and has no trouble breathing. He has increased his body weight (especially muscles) in the past year. We are traveling right now but we do plan to see his pediatrician. I am just very nervous and would like to know whether it is an emergency or whether this can wait for a week or two. Thank you.
Hi:) I am 19 years old girl-normal weight going to thin. Non-smoker,non-drinker,never used drugs.
My problem is the fast heart rate. I get tired so easily. Mine heart rate in rest is ussually normal min 70 max 90. But problem is when i am standing up-it start to jump and raise up the tahycardia to 150. Then i feel fatique and dizziness, weakness in legs and arms. Even i can't walk anymore,it beats so fast so i lost my breathe and i need to sit. After sit it gets calm for 5 min.
I did all blood analizys and they all came back normal. I checked heart with ecg, holter monitor and echo, and doctors here said that everything is ok with heart. Another thing is my bp which is 90/60 generally. Isn't it wired to have low bp and high hr?
I am in big worry and i ask for help as soon as it is possible:)
I have been having what my doctor has called palpitations for the past month, i.e. my heart has been racing unpleasantly. She suggested thyroid or anameia and I have had blood tests, am awaiting the results. Also I had an ECG which is said to show nothing untoward. I am 66 years old and female and I am concerned about the experience of heart racing. I feel as if I am anxious, frightened, and yet I know I'm not. Sometimes these effects last over half an hour, and sometimes eating sweet things sets it off.
