I have had frequent bladder infections since i was little. I was put through MRIs, and body scans several times. They were trying to figure out if my uterus was tilted, and it's not. I read that typically women get UTI's once in there lifetime. Maybe a bit more. But i usually get 2-3 each year. And they are severe bladder infections. What's going on?
Since you have already gone through lot of investigations and they appear to lead nowhere. I suggest you drink plenty of water and take care of your hygiene and avoid unnecessary medication. That should help!
Frequent UTI is not that uncommon among women. My mom had it thrice last year. The most common often are lack of hydration, lack of hygiene and inappropriate use of medications than structural problems. Drink plenty of fluids and taking care of hygeine will solve the issue. So when you have solution to the problem, why worry on the cause....

My Dad 82yrs old has been treated for cancer urinary bladder by surgery and bcg instillation in 2008. In 2011, he developed recurrence in the neck of the bladder. TURP was also done. Following this surgery, he developed overactive bladder and has been on suprapubic catheter since then. Moreover, inspite of changing his catheter every 3 weeks, he has urinary tract infections. Kindly let me know if his overactive bladder is treatable and how to control his frequent uti.
i have experienced UTI s and bladder infections for 30 years now. blood was found in my urine under microscope 2 times but my bladder was checked and i was told no need for a biopsy. I continue to experience infections frequently, sometimes just 10 days after finishing antibiotics. i had a cancerous tumor in my right kidney and my kidney was removed in July 2014. The cancer was contained in the tumor only. No cancer left behind. I am concerned about bladder cancer? Should I insist on a bladder biopsy?
Hi, I m 21 and I keep having frequent pees. I went to the doctor, they gave me anti-biotics for bladder infection . It didn t go away. I try not to drink before bed so I don t have to wake up 4-5 times. I went to the doctor again and was sent to do an ultrasound. I did that and nothing showed up other than the fact that after I urinated, there was still some fluid in my bladder. I went back to the doctor and she said that it may be an overactive bladder . I m waiting for my appointment with a urologist right now and a blood test for diabetes . But for the past 2 weeks I ve been having sharp pain from my bellybutton running all the way down to my vagina every time I flex my abs a certain way or arch my back (backwards). I have not seen an MD about the pain yet. Are there any other possibilities (other than diabetes and overactive bladder) of what this can be?
I have flank discomfort in both sides a full feeling . I had a swelled kidney 1 year ago due to my uterus being enlarged and pushing on it . I had a hysterectomy ...everything removed . I had my blood checked 2 times after my operation to see how my kidney function was and 1 year ago they said it was fine. I have had at least 3 bladder infections in the last year also. Most recently in the Spring of 2012 . I have the full feeling on both sides and sometimes a crampy feeling .
Hello, My Daughter age 40, underwent a procedure to stretch her bladder and urethra. She suffers from Interstitial Cystitis. During the procedure her Urologist checked her kidney and they found 3 nodules on her kidney. scan shows them as dark spots. The did a TB test and it will be looked at today. He suspects Renal TB. My fear is Renal Cancer. And I am concerned that if the TB test is negative, so far it looks to be, my concern is they will not do further testing to identify these nodules for at a month or more. Any thoughts?

I am a 29 year old male and for the past couple of weeks I've been having issues when I urinate and it's starting to worry me. I constantly have to push, or strain, in order to urinate. If I don't push when attempting to urinate then my urine just trickles out or doesn't come out at all plus it takes a really long time for me to start urinating and when I finally do start to urinate for some reason it will stop then go then stop again. Also it feels like I was not able to empty my bladder completely. I'm also suffering from the constant urge to urinate and urinary frequency. It feels like I always have the urge to urinate. I have to get up and urinate 3 or 4 times at night. My urine looks a little darker than normal, but it's not cloudy nor does it smell. It kinda burns when I urinate. It's like an odd feeling. When I urinate I feel this burning, tingling, pins and needles sensation. I don't know how to explain it. All of these urinary issues that I'm having is driving me crazy. I never had a bladder or urinary tract infection before. I passed kidney stones about a year ago and they were small. I was wondering what might be the cause of all these urinary problems. Why do I have to strain all the time and why do I have this constant urge to urinate? Do I have a a UTI or some other type of infection?
