Why I Have Had Fluid And Crackling In My Right Ear For More Than Two Weeks?

I have had fluid and crackling in my right ear for more than two weeks. If you push below my ear above my jaw I can feel fluid and it causes crackling. I have been taking the medication Venlafaxine. Are these two related? Do I need to see a doctor?

Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of an inner ear infection. Venlafaxine is not related to this clinical situation. Coming to this point, I recommend consulting with an ENT specialist for a physical exam. You may need to take ear drops or an antibiotic to help improve your situation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
