I have had chronic chest and back pain, what could be causing this ?

I am a 53 yr old female. 5"1 and 108 lbs. For the last 8 months I have had chronic chest and back pain. I have had a battery of test ran including a chest x-ray, CT Angiogram, Cardiolite stress test, echocardiogram(mitral valve prolapse with trivial regurgitation detected), 5 ekg's, calcium score and blood work. All but an invasive angiogram. ALL my tests have been negative. what could be causing this chest and back pain discomfort? My doctor says I may have GERD and have just started some acid reducing medication. I have also been told that I may have costachronditis, musclo-skeletal pain, muscle strains...etc.. I just need some answers! HELP!

Ok as doctor has said that you have GERD frequent use of pain killers will also cause more acidity and ulcer. you can go for physiotherapy

General & Family Physician Dr. JItendra Sharma's  Response
If could tell us the consequences following starting treatment of acid reducing agents, it would have led us better in reaching a conclusion.

Even long standing mitral valve prolapse can cause these complaints.

My back started to hurt about 3 weeks ago. Pain is located between scapulas, around my backbone. Pain is not consistent, I can feel it when I lower my shoulders down. It feels like something is pressing my backbone from sides. I also experienced some left chest pain about three weeks ago, it lasted about 2-3 weeks (I relate it with smoking). I tried some not prescription ointments for my back, but it doesn t seem to help. What could be the cause of that back pain?

Hi doctors, I am a 19 year old female. Two nights ago I was unable to sleep due to severe lower back pain, after some rest, I fell asleep. The next night I was surprised by some major pain starting in my left shoulder and shooting down my arm, I was not sure whether to go to the ER or not but instead tried to fall asleep. I slept about 3 hours and then woke up to some naseua. The arm pain came back for a bit and then left after an hour nap. I should mention that it does not feel like muscle pain and it was not caused by injury. The rest of that day I was fine and most of the best day too until tonight I am now experiencing chest pain. It feels heavy and tight. It lasts about 20-30 minutes and then stops and comes back(does not feel like heartburn or indegestion). The arm pain has now begun to come back again with the chest pain. What do you think this could be at my age? Do I need to go to the ER? Any information you have will be greatly appreciated.

my daughter had a bout of vomiting earlier this week, she also had a chest x ray done recently which showed mucus in her chest the doctor said to watch for signs of phuenoma but she seems very healthly except for being more fussy then normal. Today though she had a bowel movement that was a light grayish color could this be related or anything to be concerned about? Thank you.

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I have a 9 mm nodule on left lung and 1 1/2 inch ademopathy on left helium. It was discovered with chest x-ray because I was not feeling well and now I have to get a CT scan. I was told 15 years ago that I had histoplasmosis and had a couple repeat x-rays to make sure nothing had changed and now I am going through the same thing. I am 42, non-smoker female.
