I Have Had Abdominal Intestinal Troubles. Any Thoughts ?

greetings! For the last 3 weeks I have had intestinal troubles like never before. I am 36. I feel constantly bloated in the lower abdomen and when i sit to have a bowel movement I sometimes get intense cramps, mimicking labor or menstrual pain . my poop has a slight orange hue. For about a week of this I was constipated. Not I am more regular but deal with these horrible cramps. The cramps happen only as I sit on the toilet. the BMs are moving much more slowly than usual, dragging out this painful process. This morning after a particularly intense time i felt slightly weak. any thoughts ? I have no known food allergies but have never been tested.

Hi,

Welcome to Healthcaremagic Forum

The problem you have is Ostipation more than constipation . Its nothing but flatulence, the crams you are having are due to movement of gas through folded coils of intestine , and the failure of the stool to form bulk. this happens with irregular timing of the food and also on quality and quantity of the food.

You can get rid of this by timing your food to a fixed schedule and supplementing your diet with fiber containing food ( banana, papaya, oats, green leafy veg etc ) , also by drinking more water. Have a brisk walk every day morning it will help.

Thanks for visiting healthcaremagic.com

Your reply is probably due to a lack of sufficient info. Sorry I was not more specific. I eat tons of fiber (and oats can actually give people MORE gas--like me), very regular meals in terms of both timing and amounts and spend nearly half the day on my feet walking. There have been no significant changes in diet or routine. Oh and bulk is not a problem either :-)
Any other ideas? Thanks for your time.
