I have had 2 cervical ops. c2 thru c7. In back I have 2 1 1/2 rods to support neck, & front 2 titanium plates about 8" long. This last op. on right side the bone graft failed, went into 3 pcs, 1 halo screw & a possible shadow one, Then I had to get my r/s shoulder rotator cuff totally repaired for it tore completely in half. i have no lower disc (tail bone) dr, just took it out. Now I have fallen several times 1x last week on a boulder in my garden which jammed my spine all the way up into my neck area. I have 3 images to get, 2 mri's & 1 xray. I want to do some exercise though. I would usually be out in my yard working just doing something. I NEVER get to sleep b/4 3:30am to 7am each night and I do take a LOT OF MEDS TO HELP ME. RIGHT NOW I AM IN SO MUCH PAIN, BUT I HATE, DESPISE OPIODS THAT I HAVE BEEN TAKING FOR ALMOST 18 YRS, i CAN STOP THEM WHENEVER I WANT TO. To me, it's like taking a baby asprin, never that "high" people talk about,no edginess, sweats, just nothing. I want to get THERAPY & EXERCISES TO MAINTAIN MY HEALTH. 62 YRS GOOD CONDITION haha, live in Houston TX. near medical center & neuro DR is DR.STEPHEN ESSES. KAREN JACKSON

In January of this year, and MRI revealed a tumor of the cervical spine (C4/C5) on my 17 year old daughter. Tumor was surgically removed and pathology report came back as a meningioma. MRI was done again in 3 months and was fine. One month after that MRI she started having the same pain in her neck and weakness in her right arm. Another MRI showed that the tumor had grown back within a 4 week period. Second surgery was done to remove tumor and radiation was recommended after 2 weeks post-op. Before radiation could start, it had grown back. Third surgery was done and radiation started 10 days post op. Now into week four post op with 3 weeks of radiation. MRI was done and the tumor has grown back although not as quickly. In the meantime the 3rd pathology report came back as an epitheliod sarcoma. Tissue samples have been sent to Mayo Clinic and we awaiting those results. She also has loose knee caps and joints. Has problems with her hips, knees and ankles and tested 3 of the 5 criteria for NF2. Could there be a correlation between the joint/connective tissue problems she has and the type of tumor she has. We are told it is extremely rare to be found in the neck area. Just looking for any other opinions. Currently our team of doctors is a neurosurgeon, radiology oncologist and another oncologist. Chemo therapy is the next step as soon as we receive a definitive pathology report.
