Hi.
It is absolutely not necessary that you have to undergo an amputation. Please take care of few things:
1. Eat healthy- consult a dietecian
2. Have regular screening of you sugar and cholestrol levels
3. Be careful to avoid even micro traumas to your feet. Wear protective footwear, and also do not use tight or uncomfortable footwear.
4. ensure that there is a good circulation in your lower limbs.

Hello,

first of all thx to dr. Das as well Dr. Ravindranath for highlighting importance of diet !
1. ur BSL "fluctualtions " will affect on other body parts. so, maintaining Sugars is the main aim. hence, diet and exercise both are imp.

2. As far as foot is concern, do following care:

- wash ur feet everyday while bathing , clean well.

- dnt walk bare feet even at home or around

- keep visiting diabetic foot clinic for checking foot sensitivity

-check ur feet with mirror to point out any minor cracks .visit ur Dr. immediately as any wound may cause a serious damage to ur feet .

if the sugar levels are not controlled than it will cause distrubed blood supply to the legs and may be the leg amputated. so what you should do is take care of the blood glucose leves and also the feet to prevent the amputation
