How Can Left Sided Chest Pain That Is Sensed While Breathing Deeply Be Treated While Intermittently Coughing Some Blood?

I have chest pain, on my left side, but only hurts when I breathe deeply. When I sleep, I can only lay on my right side as the pain becomes intense. I didn t have an injury - I just woke up feeling this way one day. Additionally, I occasionally cough up a little blood, but not much and the other material I cough up is clear. thoughts?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello,

The chest pain is related mainly with the inflammation of the layers of the lungs meanwhile the blood is more with the airway. I suggest you to talk with your doctor to order a chest X-ray for you. After it will be the treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
