I have been told I have high cholesterol and need to go on ? a low-fat diet , does anyone have any recipes , nice and quick and easy, which might be of use please - mainly evening meals and lunch time meals. thanks
Pick any reduced saturated fat diet. Swap butter for Benecol or other margarine, try and use more Olive oil. Eat in moderation. Exercise more- this will raise your HDL (good cholesterol.)
Include your '5 a day' fruit and veg and try and eat at least three portions of fish a week.

I have high cholesterol...395/245. I have a local internal medicine doctor. I was on statins, i.e., crestor, etc. but seemed to be bothered with muscle aches and pains. He put me on Welchol, a powder I take with water with my lunch. It has done nothing to correct my cholesterol problems. I went to Medical Weight Loss Clinic, was tested and received the above cholesterol results. My doctor usually tests me every 6 weeks for cholesterol but this time he just told me to come back in 6 months. I need a doctor who can help me with this problem. Can you advise. I watch my diet. High Cholesterol was a problem for my parents. I am 70 years old, weigh 195 pounds, 5 3 tall.
My mother in law is 90 years old with one kidney. The visiting nurse says she needs to go on cholestral medicine. Her bas colestral is higher than she likes and her total is around 300. I am afraid to give her the medicine when I think vitamins and diet would be better for her. What do you think?
Sir, my father was having high colestrol 2years back, then the heart doctor prescribed him with revelol xl 50 and rozavel 10, he is having colestrol in control since past 1 year but there are signs of vitiligo on his leg and hand, what do i do, should i continue with the medicine as, when we went to the skin specialist he told us to go for a number of test and in that his serum bilirubin was 1.4 and SGPT is 58 unit/L and SGOT is 50 IU/L . I have a question about heart rates and health in general. When I work out my heart rate seems all over the place. Today it went down to 55 and then jumped to 145 and then back down to 55 depending on how I was breathing. Is this dangerous? I feel completely fine. I thought that there might be something wrong with the machine I was using, but I tried the same thing on another machine and had similar results. One time, my heart rate went as high as 232. Also, when I sleep, my heart rate sky rockets after feeling really cold and waking up. I was told I m having panic attacks without anybody actually checking me out or running any tests. I used to be on medication for depression, but I stopped taking it because it seemed like the medication made these episodes worse. It s as if my body is thinking backwards in these situations. I m learning to just live with it, but I can t help but wonder why it happens to begin with. It doesn t seem normal. Also, my cholesterol was a little high at a health screening, so I ve cut back on dairy, and I don t eat a lot of junk food to begin with. I ve been to the doctors several times, but they just tell me my heart is healthy and sounds good. I wish people could see what s going on while I m sleeping or while I m exercising because those are the times I m really having issues. Any insight, suggestions, or advice would be appreciated.
Hi, I have just got my blood results back from my doctor for kidneys liver cholesterol and thyroid. All came back ok except my kidneys which is said to have slightly elevated pottasium, I take lesenopril a low dose, could that be causing the problem and is there anything I can do to lower it again?
