i have a mild heart condition, do you think i can go on roller coasters? i have a real mild heart condition, and i have no idea if i should go on a roller coaster and i don't know if it will effect me...
I am a 17-year-old female who has recently began experiencing some mild, but worrying cardiac symptoms. My heart is oversensitive to physical activity (not from being out of shape, as this started quite suddenly) and beats slightly faster than normal at rest. I get out of breath very easily and have palpitations when I lay down. Also, I sometimes get very dizzy. In other words, I just haven t been feeling right . After two months of these symptoms and a long-anticipated visit to the doctor, I had an ECG done and it came out completely normal, as did my blood tests. The doctor listened to my heart and said he heard nothing abnormal, except for a skipped beat when he had me perform the Valsalva maneuver which brought up the slight possibility of mitral valve prolapse. Although I was deemed completely healthy, I still want a second opinion and I want to know if it would be safe to go on roller coasters because I m going on a trip to Cedar Point soon. I know people with heart conditions should avoid rides.
One night i was sitting by my brother watching him on the computer and i noticed my heart was beating fast i was just like oh it will prolly slow down then when i felt it again it was beating really fast and my mom called 911 and they took me to the hospital and said i had heart palptaions and it has happend to me like 4 more times but it hasent happend now for a week or so my mom thinks its anxeity and so do i cuz ity only happends when i think about it i go to dupont on the 21st for a checkup.
Hi I am 17 years old, and recently my heart has been acting strange. For a few years now I would suddenly feel my heart pound very heavily sometimes to the point of where it makes me cough rather hard. But it would only happen say...once or twice a year if that. So I didnt pay much attention to it. Recently this year (2011) my heart has done it many times, so often that it doesnt take me by suprise, I just stop what im doing and take a few deep breathes and try to really work on breathing steady. WELL, now this year, not only has my heart done that many times, but now it flutters? I think thats how you would explain it. I feel it like...almost tripping over itself so-to-speak. And a few weaks ago it did it for like a whole 20 seconds. I was in the car talking to my bf, so there was no stress, i was not driving. And especially within this month (may) it has done it countless times, also, last night it did it and i felt very short of breath so i layed down and sort of just waiting for it to quit. I know this is long but i wanted to tell all the details. My grandmother has cardio myopathy, her left vintricle valve did not completely form as a child. She says its like a sponge? where when blood passes through it sucks it up and so it prevents the proper amount of blood to go through. Heart conditions run in my family. So ya. pls help? I am going to the doctors when I can.
