I have a dramatic-looking rash that started out as tiny red bumps below my knee. There were no other symptoms for about 5 days. One evening, they got very itchy and when I woke up the next morning, they had erupted into large (nickle-sized) spots that resembled mosquito bites. After using steroid topics cream prescribed at a local clinic, the itchiness has subsided but each spot has turned dark red, almost purple. There is still a tiny bump in the center of each. I have these spots on both legs (10-12 spots per leg), 2 of the tiny red spots on an upper arm, and one on my lower back. I am clueless as to what caused them and what caused the dramatic change in appearance.
