Is Irregular Heartbeat Normal Post Placement Of Stents In The Artery?

I had two stents inserted in one of my arteries on Monday. For the past two days now my heart skips a beat as I am doing things around the house. I can do it several times close together and then nothing for longer periods of time. Is this normal. I was being treated for a mild case of a-fib prior to the stent placement for unstable angina.

Hi,

You must be on clot-buster drugs, so need not worry much.
Avoid stressful activities for a few days .
Avoid stimulants like tea, coffee, herbal products.
If the missed beats are causing trouble as weakness or lightheadedness, then you must contact your cardiologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi, General & Family Physician
