I had surgery on my left foot one week ago

I had surgery on my left foot one week ago to remove accessory navicular and repair tendon damage. Almost no pain now, but have red spots on an area of my upper thigh and below the knee immediately above the dressing. No itching or discomfort. Advice?

NOW I am swollen - especially the left foot and left knee . Also pain along the side of the outside calf. What is going on?

my wife had an accident at gym and the x-ray taken today shows that she has a irregular broken bone of one of the small bones at her left foot. She is afraid of having a pulmonary emboli (she had a bad experience after her meniscus surgery a couple of years ago). If a sugary is necessary and there is the risk of pulmonary emboli again, can she or how can she travel overseas to our country. Thank you.
