I had microdisectomy L4-5 for compressed nerve about 4 months

I had microdisectomy L4-5 for compressed nerve about 4 months ago. Before surgery, I had, and still do, severe hip and sacrum pain. My lymphocytes are 39.5%, Basophils absolute says .1, Eosinophils 3%, lymphocytes 39.5%, neutrophilic segs are 46.2%, with mean platelet volume of 12.3. I also have potassium of 5.7, calcium 10.6, albumin serum 5.4. Now I’m being told maybe the surgery didn’t successfully decompress my nerve, with no satisfactory explanation for my hip and sacrum pain. I’m concerned about early onset of bone marrow cancer after these labs. Should I be questioning my doctor?

My wife is suffering from acute left leg pain for last 3-4 months. At the beginning, pain killers and muscle relaxants were given by doctors, but these did not work at all.Only narcotic analgesics would work to some extent. Finally by MRI it was revealed that there is disc dislocation at L4-L5 position and compressing the nerves.Doctors suggested medicines, physiotherapy and traction. There is a little improvement after 2 weeks traction ,physiotherapy and traction.Should she avoid operation? She is going out 3-4 days every week by bus and train by using lumbar belt.Should she continue her lifestyle or discontinue her going out?

Hi thanks. First off I had severe back pain that I was told fibromyalgia! Then upon MRI showed 3 discs.(l5,s1)9mm compress nerve by at least 25%. The other 2 were left at 5mm(l3-4,l3-5).so bedridden months lost job, car accident recently showing sprain neck n exasperated surgery area. After much convincing I finally have MRI w dye this week. Only thing is mt thoracic area is I d constant pain. Not nerve shooting pain but sore n chronic and the s1 is hurting bad. I try to move about but can t stand having to take norcos(6a day) doesn t touch the pain. Of course depression follows. I guess I want to know is why would dr order c and L but not t?

i have a hernaited disk at l5-s1 that is compressing a conjoined nerve root on the left side. i am taking hydrocodone and was changed from morphine sulfate er tabs to fentanyl patches due to tolerance build up over the period of one year, i am having lumbar ephidurals but have noticed that my pain levels are not being controlled to a tolorable level and the only thing that is stopping the pain is to lay down for 1-2 hrs then get back up. this has to be repeated several times per day. after getting back up within one hour the pain in my left leg becomes very bad again. i do not understand why i am having so much pain when i am on mediciations like the ones i am on.
