I Had For My Golden Staph Infection. Can You Help Me ?

I am a 20 y.o male. A few months ago I was hospitalised for about 10 days with a serious golden staph infection in my elbow. I cut my elbow and didn t keep it clean and it got infected. I had blood taken a number of times in hospital (I assume for blood tests). I m wondering whether this blood would have been tested at all for HIV . I think I may need a HIV test but am thinking it may have been done already as part of the blood tests I had for my golden staph infection. Can you help me ?

Hi,

Welcome to Healthcaremagic forum

I do not think HIV test would have done . The basic guidelines say that the test for HIV should not be done without patients consent due to stigma issues .And the result too is disclosed confidentially to the patient alone whether its positive or negative.

And the need of Hiv test would be considered if you have gone through surgery /wound debridiment .There is no chance where they take your blood for Hiv test and the report not informed to you. Its illegal to concoel .

Thanks for visiting healthacermagic.com

Bye
