I Had Flu Like Symptoms, What Could It Be ?

Thank you. On Wednesday night I was nauseous and had a headache . Thursday I had flu like symptoms - hot and flushed/shivery and cold/aching joints/muscle stretching down my back and back of legs. Thursday night my legs felt as if they were burning. The rest of me like cold pins and needles on, rather than under, my skin . This morning I was feeling better apart from a slight ache round ribs and sides. But there's an aggressive sore rash all down my shin. It's blotchy, like eczema , but the skin isn't broken. It's red hot and painful like a bruise to touch all over but especially down the bone . If my leg is swollen it isn't noticeable and though painful when walking, like it's rubbing, I can walk without difficulty. My client's child I visited on Tuesday had a rash all over her body - like an allergy . Apart from a cold, she was well. I have mosquito bites from Italy which have scabbed normally. I noticed a large fresh bite on the side of my head on Tuesday, which has nearly gone. I am feeling well, maybe a bit hot occasionally but that could be the weather. I am not on medication and have no allergies.

Hello jenny

Welcome to healthcare magic.
Your symptoms look like viral hemorrhagic fever eg.Dengue which can be caused by mosquito bite or it could be viral fever transmitted by contact with the patient, the child. Most viral fevers subside on their own but if it's dengue it needs to be investigated treated by doctor since there is risk of bleeding. Also for exact diagnosis it is better you show the rash to your consulting physician.
Thank you.
