Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had an L1 S5 cage installed in 2005, in May the cage was removed for twisting and failure. In 2007 i had spinal fusion in the same area. I still suffer from chronic pain that is managed by minmal doeses of Tylernol 4, 800 miligram Motrin and Lidocaine patches. My doctor recently noticed by white blood cell count is extremely high. Can these items be related
It's good that you are feeling well with these medicines. The above mentioned drugs, be it Tylenol or Morrtin or the Patch, does not cause any significant rise in white blood cells. So it's not the drugs that is responsible.
Sometimes it may be a lab error. So, first I would like you should repeat the count again and if it is still high then you need to take it a bit seriously and see a specialist for the reason. One common reason is infections. Other then this blood disorders also can give high blood count.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
