Welcome to Healthcaremagic Forum,
It is better to examined by a good ENT specialist as the doctor will be able to diagnose the reason for the block over there. Till then, do steam inhalation 2-3 times/day, drink plenty of warm water, use saline nasal drops 3-4 times/day.

What is sinusitis? You get up in the morning feeling lousy, with a heavy head a feeling which Persists through the day wanting to sleep all the time, you re coughing and sneezing and tired and achy. You think that you might be getting a cold. Later, when the medicines you ve been taking to relieve the symptoms of the common cold are not working, you finally drag yourself to the doctor. After listening to your history of symptoms, examining your face and forehead, and perhaps doing a sinus X-ray, the doctor says you have sinusitis. What are sinuses? Sinuses are hollow air spaces in the human body. When people say, I m having a sinus attack, they usually are referring to symptoms in one or more of four pairs of cavities, or sinuses, known as paranasal sinuses. These cavities, located within the skull or bones of the head surrounding the nose, include the: Frontal sinuses over the eyes in the brow area Maxillary sinuses inside each cheekbone Ethmoid sinuses just behind the bridge of the nose and between the eyes Sphenoid sinuses behind the ethmoids in the upper region of the nose and behind the eyes Each sinus has an opening into the nose for the free exchange of air and mucus, and each is joined with the nasal passages by a continuous mucous membrane lining. Therefore, anything that causes a swelling in the nose-an infection, an allergic reaction, or an immune reaction-also can affect the sinuses. Air trapped within a blocked sinus, along with pus or other secretions, may cause pressure on the sinus wall. The result is the sometimes intense pain of a sinus attack. Similarly, when air is prevented from entering a paranasal sinus by a swollen membrane at the opening, a vacuum can be created that also causes pain. What are the symptoms of sinusitis? The location of your sinus pain depends on which sinus is affected. Headache when you wake up in the morning is typical of a sinus problem. Pain when your forehead over the frontal sinuses is touched may indicate that your frontal sinuses are inflammed
Dear Sir, Thank you very much for this opportunity. I am a 50 year old female from Hungary and I have had unilateral, right eye ptosis (4-5 mm) for about 10 years. I also feel pain, more like pressure, on the right eye and recently light pain around my right ear, sometimes pain behind my right cheek. I don’t have double vision, tearing, edema, discharge, swelling of the right eye. My right nostril is obstructed very often, the left one is quite all right. The ophtalmologist says my vision is ok but I feel that I have a restriction of my right eye movement. I feel that this is a serious problem, my right eye seems a little bit smaller, seems older (the upper lid is deepened, the eyeball is a little sunken) and because of that, my face got distorted. I have old photographs, there wasn’t any asymmetry. I’ve seen doctors in 2001 (when it started), in 2005, and in 2010-2011. I always started with an otolaryngologist because I felt pain behind the cheeks and my right eye and I thought that it might be sinusitis. The otolaryngologist sent me to the opthalmologist and then to the neurologist. In 2010 (after a cold) a CT of the face was made. In 2001 an MRI of the head was done and the radiologist found brain lesions. In 2011 the MRI of the head was repeated and they found that there is no progression of the lesions. Cancer, MS and MG and was ruled out. Pain and nose obstruction get worse when I sleep on my right side. Then I usually wake up. In 2011 I was prescribed antibioticts, after taking them it has got better. Both otolaryngologist and the ophtalmologist said that this is a neurological problem. But the neurologist can’t find anything which explains the ptosis and the pain. I have a feeling that the cause of my eye problem is a chronic sinus infection, but I am not a doctor. If you have an idea please let me know. Sincerely, M.
Hi,I was asking one of your colleagues about my 30year old chronic sinusitis problem.I had an MRI s few years ago and was told my sinuses were clear. He ignored my GP letter detailing persistent and chronic infection, bilateral scarring of eardrums and severe tinnitus. She and I feel that if the Eustachian tubes were scraped and cleared I might not suffer so much congestion and pressure around the bridge of my nose.My GP has another patient with a similar clear MTI of sinuses and this scraping and cleaning of nasal tubes is effective for her.Your colleague mentioned the possibility of vaso motor rhinitis..could you explain that to me.I get infection every 2months approximately, have tried elimination diet, neti pot, steam inhalation, supplements .all avenues tried.Doctors have commented on my very narrow bridge of nose and very narrow nasal openings..they likened them to slits.I always feel like the gunge is stuck in the tube under my eyes and close to my nose..despite drinking pints of water daily its almost impossible to get the gunge out..hence infections. To me it seems logical to scrape the tubes, there has to be huge build up from years of infection My ear problem is worsening, with fluid in middle ear, tinnitus and vertigo.Would really appreciate your opinion, very interested to know what vaso motor rhinitis is which your colleague mentioned. Thanks for reading this.Incidentally good bloods..normal haemoglobin, some gluten sensitivity which I address, recently diagnosed with RT3 problem with thyroid gland,,after years of having hypo symptoms but normal basic tests, endocrinologist sent bloods to France, came back with FreeT3 to RT3 ratio of 2.4...it should be over 20.And DHEA of 6.2...range is 3.4 to 33.On liothyronine 3 months and the difference is amazing.I,ve had CFS/ME for 2yrs,finally getting somewhere.Again thanks in advance..Maria Kelly
Hi, I am a 43 yr old female who has a long history of allergies and was diagnosed with euctachian tube dysfunction in high school. Usually when I have episodes with my ETD it's because of high pollen count, a cold, or having traveled on a plane. I have had my current episode of ETD (clogged ears, feels like water in ears, sometimes it gets a little heat in the ears) for about two years straight now. I recently (a few months ago) started having a regular scratchy throat and found on the back of my throat a small red spot. I am assuming it's from Post Nasal Drip but my hyper active brain keeps getting me worried that it's some sort of cancer of the throat. I haven't gone to the doctor about this in the last two years because I don't know what can be done for it any more. Some Drs have told me in the past to get used to it because it's my allergies (I didn't have the scratchy throat and red spot then though). What do you suggest I do? I do use a neti pot daily and am using NasalCrom daily as well in the hopes that if I can open the eustachian tube the redness, bump, and scratching throat will stop but so far I am having no luck at all. Your advise would be appreciated.
i have had chronic wet, itchy, and popping ears since giving birth one year ago this weekend. i use a neti pot, and salin mist nightly, sometimes more, but still seem to have a great deal of fluid behind them. is this common? i had a very quick, natural child birth....
