Welcome to Health Care Magic:

Uncontrolled blood pressure in your age needs further evaluation to find out if there are any treatable causes.
Some tests like electrolytes, BUN/Cr, Serum aldosterone and renin levels, plasma catecholamines and metanephrines, renal Doppler Ultrasound, TSH, FT3, FT4 are very valuable to find any treatable cause for blood pressure.

When the systolic pressure > 180 and/or diastolic pressure > 120 (Hypertensive Urgency) you need to get hospitalized. There is risk of Stroke, heart attack, kidney failure with this numbers. If the blood pressure far below these numbers but high, your physician will give extra medication and will ask you to come next day. So you need to follow the clinic until blood pressure is 120/80.
