I get sharp pains in my chest

Sometimes after I eat certain foods I ll get jolted with sharp pains. They seem to run from my chest to my upper arms. They pain is on the same rhythm with my heart beats. It also seems to happen after fatty foods. The latest one happened with an avacado and lasted for like 45 seconds. Any ideas?

I ve noticed just today while I was at work I had some sharp pains around my heart, and I had to stop and regain my composure for a minute before I was ok again. And just now while I was working out, I noticed some slight sharp pains around my heart as I was exercising. I have been exercising frequently recently, and my chest has quickly become much broader than it once was (that might be a potential factor), I am 17 by the way. I actually eat fairly healthy, I try to avoid fatty foods and normally eat organic things. (Though the past couple of days I have pigged out on candy, pizza, cheezeburgers, and ice cream, but only for my birthday, that is unusual for me) and I am in excellent shape. What might be causing this? Could a short relapse in my healthy eating maybe cause this sharp pains?

Skeletal chest pain left side, had for aroud 18 months, 22nd October 2010 had PFO closure so I know my heart is all OK, no more mild strokes. I get sharp pains to the bottom side and top of my chest, sharp twinges then release. The pain is like a burning pain that can grind away for hours, sometime pain killers will give me relief, sometimes no. When I am sitting and slightly leaning forward is when I at my worst or trying to complete some physical work. Have been told it is skeletal or nerevs caught in my rib cage casuing the problem. Your thoughts thanks David

I am 56 years old and had been relatively healthy throughout my life. 2 years ago I had a heart attack. I was given 3 drug eluting stents in the left side. I no longer smoke. I take the followings meds. apo-metoprolol 50mg per day, plavix 75mg per day, lipitor 60mg per day, novo-lisinopril 10mg per day, low dose aspirin 1 per day. i wear nitro-dur patches 0,4 & 0,2 but not every day. My issues are : I constantly feel & look bloated. My weight has gone from 155 to 185 but my eating habits haven t been altered drastically. I get hungry then after i eat my stomach gets very upset. My bowel movements are irregular & usually runny. I tire very easily & generally feel lethargic. I often get chest pains and/or heart burn. Because of the aforementioned my mental state isn t the best either. I was an upbeat, active person & now I just try to get the day in. I ve asked my doctor many times if my meds are the issue & he says I must take them to continue living. A couple of times I didn t take all these pills for a few days & noticed a remarkable improvement. I don t really want to die prematurely but I am sick & tired of being sick & tired. Any assistance provided would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Hi. I am a male. As long as I can remember, i have experienced a sharp, burning chest pain that occurs randomly. It does not radiate and usually only lasts a few seconds. It is not brought on by exercise. I also occasionally experience palpitations. Sometimes, it feels like my heart stops and skips a beat and then continues. I also can feel my heartbeat sometimes and it beats fast and hard. My usual resting heart rate is about 103. My BP is about 128/76. I have panic attacks also. Occasionally, I feel lightheaded which usually only lasts for a few minutes and is followed by extreme anxiety. I sometimes get nauseous and have irregular bowel habits. Sometimes I am constipated and other times I have diarrhea. I have seen my doctor and had blood work and a EKG done. Palpitations did show up on the EKG but my doctor says they are not serious. Some people have suggested I have acid reflux. I seem to have some symptoms of MVP but I was never diagnosed with it.

I have an occasional pain shooting up from my heart to the right side of my neck. Not a sharp pain, a dull pain lasting only a second each time. The chest pain has been a one in a blue moon occurrence ever since I was a child, I m thinking due to my heart murmur. But the neck pain is new to me starting 3 days ago.
