Hi, I have this uncomfortable feeling in my throat . I feel it the most when i turn my head to the left. I also seem to have phlegm stuck there too and it s been 2 months already. I also suffer from chostochondritis, but besides that I have no other problems, as in I breath normally and my blood pressure is normal. What to do?

Hi,

You may be having reflux of gastric contents into the throat which is causing you the throat discomfort. You need to start on Proton pump inhibitors (such as Esomeprazole/Pantoperazole) and avoid smoking/alcohol/spicy/oily foods/coffee/tea/stress. Before starting on the medications please get yourself thoroughly investigated by an apt ENT specialist.

Dr. Naveen Kumar
