Is Tenderness Normal In The Dislocated Top Joint Of The Little Finger Six Weeks After Putting It Back In Place And Splinting It?

I dislocated the top joint (closest to the tip) of my pinky finger approx. 6 weeks ago. I do not have insurance so didn t go to the hospital. My finger was put back in place and has been splinted ever since. The joint is still tender to the touch - is that normal?

Hello,

It is normal to have some tenderness in this region after this period of time. I recommend performing regular physical activity in order to help gain the function and reduce the tenderness.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
