I am trying to locate a doctor for lumbar injection

I am trying to locate a doctor for lumbar injection with sedation only, ( I have nerve damage in my L5 region) in my area but it is only giving me main cities ?? I live in California in a pretty big area and I don't want to travel all the way to LA just to see a doctor. I live in Ventura County so Oxnard, Thousand Oaks and even Woodland Hills I would go too.
Thank you

Been having lower lumbar issues since 2009. MRI results since than have shown L4 & L5 slightly herniated, bulging and protruding with annular tears on both discs. For years I ve only had slight aches and pains. Did the chiro & PT route. Even tried meds. Suddenly this past May, I started getting pains in lower right lumbar area radiating down right side into buttock area, down rear of leg continuing down front right knee down to ankle. Went for 3 epidurals and nerve blocking injection. All to no avail. Scheduled for discography next week to determine which disc is actually giving me my issues. After they determine which disc it is, surgery will most likely be scheduled. Can it possibly be something other than the discs giving me my pains and discomfort? Also had xray of right hip which showed calcium deposits on ball joint. Seen 3 doctors so far and all 3 seem to believe it s all disc related. But for some reason, I feel my body is telling me it could be something else. Also had routine blood work all came back fine. Sciatica possibly? Any suggestions?

Hi-dont know if anyone can help with this--- I was diagnosed 4 years ago with degenerative disc disease. Prio to the diagnosis I had an emergency c-section where there were complications, then 6 months later a LP to check for meningitis. Then diagnosed with DDD. I had 3 steroid injections, which were partially sucessfull. Then a tear later another set that had no effect. In February, I was admitted to hospital with suspected menigitis. I was told I would need a LP. My husband explained the complications with my back already and the doctor dismissed it. She proceeded to do the LP. It was horrendous! I had pain going up and down and across my entire body. I was screaming in agony. After ages of pushing, squeezing and wiggling whilst I was still screaming, she huffed and puffed and said that where she was trying to get the needle in had calcified . She then said that she had to do it again. Yet again, same lightening strikes everywhere, until I begged her to stop. She kept saying, nearly there, nearly there, until finally, she managed to get the fluid out. I laid there shaking in agony, crying. My husband was told that he should go home and get some rest as I would not be moved now after that trauma. 20 minutes after he left, they said they were moving me to a ward. What they neglected to say was that the ward was 2 flights of stairs up and the lift was brroke! They then proceeded to push and pull me up the stairs! I have today returned to my doctor after still having so much nerve pain down my legs into my feet, an aching nerve pain in my left buttock which is all new and not subsided in any way. Added to that, I still have all the original back pain. My consultant has now ordered an MRI scan and a nreve test. He stated how unacceptable the wholeordeal was. He said there may have been damage from the LP-nerve or a bloot clot? I was too shocked to ask any more and wondered if you could give me any more details or tell me what the nerve test would involve? Many thanks to you in advance beverly

Hello: Ive been in 2 car accidents. Since then I ve been in severe pain.Mri of the lumbar spine show L4/5 mild left paracentral posterior.Even though this is causing me sever chronic pain, the Neurologist doesnt think this should be a problem. I ve since then had a mri on my neck and cervical spine; which mri show L5/6 diffused disc bulgeeffaces the anterior subarachnoid space.facet joint hypertrophy greater on the left with moderate to marked left neural foraminal narrowing. at L4/5 posterior spondylosis greater pn the right with mild flattening of the right ventral cord. I ve see 2 Neurologist and one Neurosurgeon , Ive told them all im in severe pain constantly every day . ive tried several spinal injections which did not help only ending having to have a blood patch from a spinal headache. I m taking Lortabs 10 ; which one of the Neurologist prescribed and flexrell 10 muscle relaxers, they don t ease this pain because ove been on them for a while the doctor refuses to change any of these because he claims that it should relieve the pain which at first when I first start taking them I did get some relief and was able to hold my full time job. I ve also had decompress therapy for spine , nerve and back. which 13 out of 20 treatments that made me worse because when I come out of treatment I feel worse coming out than going in so, based on the medical stress of the pain, and medical debt, and the fact that I have no ease pain is chronic and severe medical debt that I can t no longer afford, In stop going. These Neurologist , and Neurosurgeon say that these findings of these 2 mri results can cause a little pain but they don t feel they are causing severe pain, but they are.based on the fact of me have been in two car accidents, my back back started from the first one and the second one increased the symptoms that I already had and added as well because from the first accident I did not have a problem with my neck , cervical spine but I do now test show diffuse disc at L5/6 and flattening and narrowing of space in other areas of L4/5. My question is , can these problems in different areas cause sever pain? everyone body is different, therefore things affect people different, What is your advice or opinion on what I should do. Now because of my sever pain I am unable to work.
