I Am Still Coughing Very Badly All The Time, Please Advise

Hi, I have been coughing profusely for 2 months. The cough feels itchy in my throat . The flam is white in color. The first doctor I went to, an ENT, said it was a nose and throat infection and that I had acid reflux . He gave me some antibiotics for the infection and some medicine for the acid reflux but I still kept coughing. The second doctor I went to, a pediatrician , said that the infection I had was cured, but that the acid reflux is still there and that it might be an allergy . He gave me some medicine for my cough and something for the acid but I still kept coughing. The third doctor I went to, an ENT again, I showed him an enlarged bump on my neck which he said is an enlarged lymph node. He said it could be TB or whooping cough etc and that could be irritating my throat. He made me do a CT scan which said I had a patch of dead/neuretic cells on my lungs. The fourth doctor I went to, a GP, said it was nothing to worry and that it was an infection. He made his conclusion based on a blood test I did, and he prescribed me some antibiotics which I am still on. He told me that the dead cells patch on my lungs are nothing to worry about. The fifth doctor told me that there is no TB (based on a TB test) and possibility of hypothyroid in the future, but nothing to worry about right now. He also said that another blood test I did showed bacterial infection. He has advised me to do a biopsy. I am still coughing very badly all the time, 2 months from when it first started. Please advise what this might be and whether a biopsy is necessary.

In the diagnostic work up for Chronic persistent cough , when all tests, like chest X ray, Pulmonary Function tests, TB skin test are negative, you need BRONCHOSCOPY. During the Bronchoscopy they take biopsy from abnormal areas and they take fluids call BAL (Broncho Alveiolar Lavage) from lug space.

Hi, I am just wondering if you got your complaint sorted? Some of these symptoms sound familiar, you should look at this website and maybe see if any of the other symptoms relate to you as the persistant coughing and the lump on neck. www.lollipopday.ie
Hope it is not anything bad but better safe than sorry.
