There are many reasons you may be feeling palpitations, many of which require no treatment, but some of which do. It is really impossible to say very much about what might be done without an EKG, and it really should be done while you're feeling the palpitations. So see your doctor if it worries you and let him do one, that's usually a good first step in working up palpitations.

Having heart palpitations (feels like extra or skipped beat) for last two weeks straight everyday more than a few times a day. Never happened before. In the past only getting an occasional palpitation once in a blue moon. After first week of palpitations started getting chest pain or discomfort also in upper back ( like how it feels after your muscles hurt from exercise) and dwelling anxious from it all. EKG yesterday said it was normal except for slower heart rate (59 compared to last years EKG 60). Had a physical 3 months ago and everything seemed pretty normal. Doc suggested a chest X-ray eventually and Xanax. She thinks its anxiety or stress and I would have agreed with her normally only with the heart palpitations I don t feel like its that since I ve had a lot of past anxiety over the years but I ve never had these consistent palpitations and its pretty scary. I feel like the anxiety im experiencing now is just due to being scared about the palpitations and the fear and paranoia of something more serious? I m 36 5 1 103 lbs. normally healthy no history of heart disease in family.

I have palpitation almost every morning for the last few days, I have medications taken everyday since February this year for I have experienced palpitation for the first time and my bp goes up. I consulted to a doctor (Internal Medicine) and he suggested to have a laboratory check and ECG. My ECG was normal but my cholesterol level was above normal and uric acid was high also. He suggested me to take refluxid duo for acid and atenolol for my heart and blood pressure to normalize. He told me to come back after two months. But after a month, I don t feel better. Sometimes i experience difficulty in breathing and my heart sometimes is aching but for a short period only. And I feel that my acid comes back after I stopped taking refluxid duo for about nine days already. What can you say about my current situation? I m looking forward for some response from you. Thank you in advance.

Hi, I m 25 years old and was suppose to have my period 5 days ago. I m a bit late. Last night I started feeling a bit nauseous and right after that I could feel my heart beating faster and sweated like never before (cold sweat for like 10 minutes). I am currently sexually active and that is why I wanted to do some pregnancy tests. I tried two different ones and got back negative results from both. My boyfriend thinks it is hyperthyroidism, because I was showing all the same symptoms. I still didn t talk to any doctor so far and I still want to do some more pregnancy tests at home. What is wrong with me? Thank you!
