Hello,
Its not a good sign to have pain after getting an implant in our jaw. The pain can occur for a day or two but if it is prolonged it could be a sign of infection. however in your case , you mentioned you wear reatiners- that is one of the possible cause of pain. you are not suppose to wear reatiners for atleast two weeks till the gums over the implant heal well. or if it is too important then your retainers must be lined by a "soft tissue liners" which will prevent any trauma to the underlying gums when you wear the retainer. its not a good idea to wear retainer in post surgical phase. avoid for two weeks and consult your dentist. let him do a clinical examination and take an x ray of the area. be cautious if you see "pus" coming out. thats a sign of infection. must go back to your dentist and talk. good luck. Hi, I have recently had a dental implant put in. Op was in match and I and due to have the abundment and crown added in July. I have had a minor infection in the area for a few weeks. It is like a spot which keeps filling with white fluid. No pain at all. I went back to the dentist 2 weeks ago and he did an X-ray and said implant is fine. He also numbed the area and scraped the infection out. It has come straight back tho. Before going back to him is there anything else I can do? Will TCP work? Also, can I use dettol antiseptic in my mouth? Thanks sam

Hi. im a 43 year old female. I had a dental implant that was failing and had to be removed. (tooth #13) The implant had caused me severe pain from the moment the crown was placed. I now have been suffering with neck pain, numbness in arms and hands and the worst is the vision problems. I have lost my depth perception and can no longer drive. My face still always feels like I have been punched. My ears make swooshing sounds. I have been for every test, CATscan, MRI... they all come back fine. The only thing I did find thru a D.O. is that I have no cortisol left (I have read that adrenal fatigue and long term dental infections go hand in hand). I m wondering if I could have a very deep sinus infection even though the CATScan was clear... or perhaps a deep dental infection. I have been take Kflex 250mg 4x p/day for three weeks while waiting to get in with oral surgeon. (he is going to assess me) Can a deep infection be causing the vision problems? or do you think the bones in my face shifted? my left eye and left side of my face go from pain, to numbness to just feeling strange . My left eye also changes shape a lot and sometimes gets very small. Thank you.

I take 25 mg of Trazodone to sleep, for I have fibromyalgia. Today I had oral surgery (a dental implant) and was sent home with Percocet, which also makes me sleepy as a side effect, but just for 4 hours or less. If I need the Percocet for the pain, should I skip the Trazodone tonight? Or do they work safely together? (Should I start out with just Trazodone and see if I wake up in pain?) I can t come up with the obvious solution here. I m sorry, I didn t understand that this was a pay service. I feel like an idiot for having given up private medical information to this website -- and for failing to call the pharmacy before it closed, so I m stuck without an answer.

I had a mammorgram the other day - showed that I have a little hardening of the arteries - is this normal? I have had breast implants for 30 years and it also shows that I have some calcilum build up between the Implant and the muscle wall? Just curious - my doctor says it comes with age - I am 61 - have worked out since I have been 25 and try and eat right - and have a glass a wine a week?? Thanks!
