I am having cold symptoms, virus infection. I am pregnant. what should I do ?

Hi I m 15 weeks pregnent and currently off sick due to cold symptoms, think I have got virus infection. Doctor won t give me any antibiotics because i m pregnent but I m off from work again due to the ilness and my employer is not happy about it. Please advise me what should i do ?

Hi.. Antibiotics are not needed for a viral infection... Antibiotics are preventive measures to prevent secondary bacterial infections.. Hence if you do not have a signs of bacterial infection, antibiotics can be avoided especially if you are pregnanct.. Help your self with good and regular diet.. Multivitamin pills may help in improving symptoms too which could be used..

You can take steam inhalation and paracetamol round the clock 8hrly to get rid of
