I Am Concerned About White Lumps In Back Of Throat And It Had A Hole.

Hi, about a year ago, I started getting bad breath that wouldn't go away and I had a lump on one side of the back of my throat. It had a white spot, and when I went to the doctor, he told me it was a piece of food stuck. A couple of months ago, it still did not go away, so I went to another doctor and he told me it was pus, and put me on antibiotics for strep. The white stuff went away but the lump was still there. A couple of days ago, I felt like I had something stuck in the back of my throat, and I saw that I had more white bumps. While I was eating today, some of it came out, and I threw it away thinking it was a piece of food. But it felt really uncomfortable so I got a long stick and poked the white stuff so they could come off, it did and it looked sort of like a mushroom, it was hard, and off white, and when I checked my throat, the lump had a hole where the white stuff had been stuck. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow, but I'm just a little concerned. What do I have?

Hi.. It again could be some collection of fluid or pus... You may have done more damage while manuplating with the stick... See a doctor as soon as possible...

Hope you and you're doc figured it out but if not, or if anyone else is researching this problem, there's a 95% chance they're tonsilloliths, or tonsil stones. They can be located in your palentine tonsils (the ones you can see) or lingual tonsils (behind the tongue). Nothing to worry about unless you're very annoyed by them or you're having bad breathe that you don't want to deal with anymore. If anyone else is having the same problem then you should go see your doctor because there is the small chance it could be something worse, but hopefully this will put your mind at ease.

welcome to healthcaremagic
please see your doctor .
as you are having visible lumps and diagnosis not yet established ,it will be better to discuss the problem with your doctor and a biopsy should be done or other suitable tests to know the pathology
please get your throat examined by e n t surgeon and get the investigations done as advised
pharyngeal diverticulum should be excluded

I get them all the time. Nothing to worry about. It's just food, I had my doctor check it out.
