Suggest Treatment For Severe Lower Back Pain Especially While Standing In An Upright Position
I am a 64 year old white women 5 ft tall weight 230 lbs. I have intense pain in the center lower back near arc of spine. Pain only exists when I am standing in upright position. Not taking meds for this but need to know what this is and how to treat it. Very problematic problem I can not even go grocery shopping with out way too much pain.
Most of the time low back pain is due to a muscular strain. In your case, because the pain is worse in a certain position, very likely you are having a muscular pain as well. I would advise you to use Ibuprofen 600 mg and paracetamol 500 mg every 6 hours after food. If no improvement in 2 weeks or you notice any worsening you will need to have a visit with your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
