I am 79 I had a perforated bowel and diverticulitis

I am 79 I had a perforated bowel and diverticulitis about 3 years ago
After antibiotic the perforation in my bowel healed with little scar tissue and the diverticulum healed.
My surgeon has said that my lower bowel has narrowed and I now have a motion - fairly normal twice a day - occasional three.
No signs of any blood fresh or dry and I occasionally have some release of faeces when urinating - and do not have any problem urinating.

Hello, can seeds, nuts, vegetable and fruit skins, cucumbers, and tomatoes be eaten on a diverticulitis diet? My sister has went through a perforated bowel, has a colostomy, and rehab nursing home is serving her sesame seeds on buns, stewed tomatoes, etc. Thank you.

I do have the condition diverticulitus. Over the last 13 years since diagnosis I have experience different bowel problems, and could live with them. Recently over the last 2 months I have been experiencing smelly flactulence and stools smelling of ammonia at times. I often have bad night s sleep due to low lumbar fused vertibrae,or maybe the bowel. Need advise help.

I believe I have a diverticulitis flare up and saw the nurse practitioner Thursday. Also I have not had a bowel movement for a week now. She prescribed Cipro for the diverticulitis and recommended rectal suppository and if that didn t work then magnesium citrate. I believe the Cipro is helping but I still have not had a bowel movement. When I cramp and get the urge, I pass small pieces of what looks like an off-white discharge. What is my next step? Thank you.
