My ejection factor averages 30 over the past five years. I have been managing with medications and by pacing myself. I am 84years old. I have recently been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea and have read that low ejection factor often causes sleep apnea. I want to make sure that I am getting the best treatment for my low ejection factor. What are the options? Richard Welch

My aunt is 79 years old. She just suffered a heart attack and has congestive heart failure. Her ejection fraction is 10% and she has a pacemaker and defibrulator. Her condition seems to be getting worse very quickly - memory is gone, very tired all of the time. Someone told me that with an ejection factor this low toxins will build up in her body and eventually she will pass. I am trying to understand if that is correct and what I can expect. Hopefully you can help me. Thank you.
