Does Stopping A Diuretic Cause Difficulty In Walking?

I am 68 years old and in good shape. My legs are feeling heavy and sometimes hard to walk and keep my balance. I am off my diuretic with my blood pressure medicine and this is slowly increasing. Would that possibly have something to do with the problem?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If you have already pedal edema or cardiac problem then it may aggravate after stopping diuretics.

So don't stop anti hypertensive drugs and diuretics with out doctor advice.

Other possibilities like sensory neuropathy or filariasis may can present like this.

Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care.
