I recently experienced an acute and sudden pain in the centre of my chest and was concerned it was a heart attack. After sipping hot water and waiting a few minutes it abated. It has since occurred to me it felt like cramp of the oesophagus - is this possible. I am a 66 year old female.

Hi, I m a 66 year old female. I haven t had a menstrual cycle in about 10 plus years. Earlier today I had a severe cramp in the bottom of my stomach. It lasted for maybe 30 minutes. It went away and I feel just fine now. This evening there was a spot of blood in my panties. Is that unusual and something to be concerned with or does this happen sometime.

Hi - I am a 68 year old female and I have had crohn s disease since age 18. I have had 4 bowel resections due to partial bowel obstructions. I am currently on 6mp and Lialda. The past two years have gotten much worse for me around frequent bowel movement. Probable 10 times per day. Frequently without warning. This has limited my daily activities. My question is that sometimes when I have diarrhea I continue have cramping and it continues to an acute pain level and cramping. When there seems to be nothing left to come out my body does not stop cramping and trying. What frequently comes out is a foamy discharge, mucous in nature. Do you know what is causing this? What should I do about it? At this point I probably have taken 8 lomitil and they have not done any good. Should I be concerned. Thank you so much for your input. Carol Golden I would like to have a Gastrointerologist that is familiar with Crohn s review my concern. Thank you.
