I am 57, post menopausal and had a total hysterectomy

I am 57, post menopausal and had a total hysterectomy laparoscopically with salpingo-oopherectomy 3 weeks 4 days ago. I have had discharge since which has been pinkish brown and small quantities. However 8 days ago I had some fresh blood. Stopped doing everything and rested for 3 days and it all subsided for 2 days. Since then I have had gushing of watery fluid which started odourless but has now become smelly - not fishy but a strange acidic smell. It is sufficient to soak a pant liner and has been happening with more and more frequency. This is not associated with coughing or any type of stress incontinence. I telephoned the hospital who tried to contact my surgeon and they eventually rang back to say he said that unless there was any fever there was nothing to worry about. Surely this is not normal?

do the ovaries still release a normal set of hormones after hysterectomy and how long does it take the body to adjust? I am six weeks post op. I had a total hysterectomy, uterus and cervix removed, due to very low iron levels. I notice when it would be that time of the month, my breasts would be very sore. this never happened before the surgery.

I am 57 years old, active and healthy, but had a laparoscopic total hysterectomy, including tubes and ovaries, two and a half weeks ago. I m supposed to go back to work on Monday, but wondering if that is realistic considering how extremely tired I still feel. My energy runs out after doing small things like loading dishwasher, feeding pets and all I want to do is lay down with an ice bag on my belly. Also, my concern is if it is safe yet to drive the fifteen minutes to my office?

Hi. I am 57 yrs and 1 month old.. I have been diagnosed having a fibroid. My Dr. performed a DNC. he says I need a total hysterectomy. I have no pain, except in my lower back. I haven t had sex for six years now. I began bleeding again after approximately 10 years. Just before menopause, I would bleed a lot around six months prior. I take an aspirin sometimes. If I take one too often I bleed some. I feel that s why I was bleeding. I weigh 370lbs. and is 5 7 tall. Do I really need a full hysterectomy? I m never sick or never feel bad or fatigue. I really don t want to have a hysterectomy. My Dr. says I do not have cancer. Thank you!
