I’m going to be starting POP birth control pills when my period starts. It has been a long time since I’ve been on birth control & things have changed with them. How long do I need to be on this pill, Camila, before it’s safe to have intercourse with my fiancé unprotected?

Hello. I have a question concerning my birthcontrol. Tonight marks the time when I need to start my new month of birth control and when I grabbed my last month that I have I noticed that 4 of the first week of pills are gone. I dont have the money for a new packet of pills for a week or so. Can I start my pills on the next available day, the fifth pill, and continue throughout the month until I run out of the blue pills then buy another month and take the first 4, and then go back to the original month and finish it off with the white sugar pills? I have the 28 day tri sprintec packets. So basically, does it matter if I take my pills completely out of order excluding rhe white sugar pills at the end? Thank you for your help!

I ve been on Quasense for nearly 6 years, and I have always been on time, or no more than one day late (in those cases, I followed the instructions and took two when I remembered etc.,) But now I m late on taking pills and I m not sure what I should do as far as where to start the next pill. I was supposed to start a new tray (first tray out of the three) LAST Sunday. It is now Monday (a week and 1 day late). My birth control is mailed to me through a mail order pharmacy (I.e: I dont go to an actual pharmacy, every refill gets mailed), but I ran out of refills and getting my new pack has been delayed. Im supposed to get my new pack this upcoming Wednesday (aka One week and 3 days after I was supposed to start my new pack. I ve been reading conflicting information online...on one side, it says that if I miss more than 3 pills, I just start on the current day and don t take the pills I missed...and the other side I am told that where in the pack you miss pills has specific instructions. So...my question is: If I am over a week (but under two weeks) late on starting the first tray of a new pack; once I get the birth control in a couple of days, how do I correctly take it?

Hi. I m 19 and I ve been taking birth control for many months. Recently I messed up and missed two days and by he third day I was bleeding. I called my Gyno and she said that it was breakaway blood and that I should keep taking my bc as normal but warned me to use another form of birth control as my bc would be ineffective for the rest of this month. Then I had sex with my boyfriend and the condom broke. Immediately we went to the store and got a levonorgestrel 1.5mg pill (Take Action) and I took it within an hour of this happening. The timeline is what gives me concern. I missed the two bc pills on Friday and Saturday going into my third week on my regular pill. On Sunday, which would start the last week of my regular pill (day 15). To my knowledge, from day 14 to the start of my period is when I am an supposed to ovulate. The condom broke on Thursday night which is 3 days before I m supposed to start my period/sugar week on my bc. What I am most concerned about is if the emergency contraceptive is in anyway effective due to the nearness to my period and with the likelihood of my having already ovulated? I did a significant amount of research with many mixed responses but the basic theme is that the ec pill is only effective before ovulation. That then pisses me off knowing that there is no warning on the box to say don t drop $50 if you already ovulated because you ll be spending a lot more later in because this pill doesn t work.
