Hyperthyroid, Taken Radioactive Iodine. Do's And Dont's To Be Followed?

hello sir....my name is bipin.I am 23 yrs old and i am a hyperthyroid patient according to the doctors.I am not on any thyroid specific medication for the past two years,but i have taken radioactive iodine 2 times as wished by the doctor.What are the dos and donts i should follow and what all should i eat and not eat...

there are no restriction with your diet.

you should not go near pregnant women or children for 10 days after the radioactive iodine treatment. you should carefully dispose your secretions such as urine, saliva as they may contain small amount of radiation. the doctor who gave you the radioactive iodine will give the list of precautions you should take
